Multiple Media Watercolor and Quilting
Vicki is a watercolor artist and fabric quilter. She began to draw, color and paint as a child and began to sew at age 11 making her own clothes. She discovered rubber stamping and has made greeting cards since 1994. She began watercolor painting, her preferred medium of expression, after moving to Reno/Sparks in 2003.
Vicki has a passion for travel, always carries a camera and paints from her own photography. She started painting miniatures to use on greeting cards and has learned to paint in larger scale. Her other love is quilting and she’s won prizes with quilt projects.
Vicki has studied watercolor with a variety of nationally known artists taking a class each year. She’s taken classes in perspective drawing and color theory and has entered juried shows since 2008. She has won a variety of prizes including Best of Show, Best Historical plus regularly wins People’s Choice. Her paintings are in private collections nationwide and a few are in England and Japan.
Vicki is the Latimer Art Club Past President, serving her second term in 2020-2021.
