At the time of writing this show description, per Covid-19 circumstances, we are asking the non-vaccinated and cautious to wear masks as a courtesy to others. This is subject to change with current conditions.

Show catalogs will be available and presented to participants and purchasers. During the rest of the show, participants are encouraged to “art sit” and invite their friends and patrons to have a quieter visitation.

The Entry Form must be filled out online by September 19th, 2021, before shipping your entry artwork. If artwork is received without the form being filled out ahead of time the entry will not be valid. Artist is responsible for all shipping costs to return the artwork. LAC will not be responsible for any damage/loss incurred during shipping.

Drop Off: All artwork must be dropped off between September 19 and September 30.  On September 30, the artwork must be in the gallery by 1:00pm.

Entry Fees for up to 4 entries:

LAC Members: $25:00 Flat Fee

Non-Members: $35.00 flat fee for up to 4 entries

All fees are nonrefundable. Payment is due online with Entry Form.

  • For mixed media please indicate, on the label, all mediums used in artwork
  • No Photography, prints, crafts, or computer-generated art will be accepted.
  • The judge will make the final determination regarding questions of placement in categories.

Eligibility & Guidelines for Miniatures

Open to all artists 18 years and over residing in Nevada

By “miniature” we mean the size of the painting not to exceed 36 square inches, not the 1/6th scale of the subject, a stricter miniature definition.

  • Framing: All work to be framed, including gallery wrapped canvasses. EXCEPTION cradleboard surface with wooden edges painted or stained. 
  • Artwork must be original, have been completed within the last 2 years, and not shown in a previous LAC Miniature show.
  • The total image area of the painting must not exceed 36 square inches (i.e. 4 x 6 5 x 7, 6 x 6).
  • All artwork must be framed.
  • Frame opening not to exceed 80 square inches (8 x 10). This is the inside measurement of the frame; frame molding not to exceed 1 1/2 inches.
  • Frame molding width no greater than one and one-half inches (1.5”)
  • Linen liners are considered comparable to mats and are acceptable.
  • Dust covers are required on the back of the frame except for oil/acrylic paintings done on stretched canvas and cradleboard surfaces.
  • No Uni-frames, Clip Frames, Sawtooth Hangers, Cardboard, Masking Tape, or Easel Backs left on the back of frames.
  • Frames must be undamaged, with hardware and wire in place for hanging.
  • Paintings delivered chipped, cracked, damaged, dirty, or with improper presentation will not be accepted
  • An entry label must be affixed to the back of each painting. Labels must be completely filled out including price. Do Not include sales tax.
  • All artwork must be for sale. 35% commission to ACR.

Latimer Art Club reserves the right to refuse any painting that does not comply with the requirements stated above.

Over $3000 in Cash, Merchandise, and Gift Certificates! Winners will be announced on Setember 30th.

Ribbons: Best of Show, plus 1st, 2nd, 3rd. HM’s as judged.

Venue

The Artist Co-Op Gallery of Reno, now in its 54th year, is pleased to again host this prestigious show and sale. Admission to the show is always free, and the gallery is open daily from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. 

Juror/Judge – Phyllis Shafer

Recently retired art professor at Lake Tahoe Community College, Phyllis has been an award-winning artist with sold-out solo exhibitions at the Stremmel Gallery in Reno in recent years.
