Charlene Hadwin: On April 24, 2021 Char is offering a class to play with paints like never before as you learn various techniques to create a unique abstract work of art. Mix your own paint as you familiarize yourself with the simple supplies needed to enjoy this medium. Discover the newest techniques used in fluid acrylic art and explore the dirty pour, swipe, balloon smashing, airbrushing and fluid flow pour methods. Practice, paint and take home your masterpiece. Please read:  Supplies required to bring to class: • Calligraphy pen of choice Pilot Parallel Pen 2.4mm nib size is a great place to start. I will be sharing the other available nib sizes during class time, and there you will find the pen that you are able to bond with to create fantastic lettering artwork that resonates with you. • Several ink cartridges – black is preferred. • 2 Sharp tip pencils for drawing larger letters and guidelines. The Pilot Parallel Pen nib size 2.4mm can be purchased at Nevada Fine Arts. Reno and on-line. A Calligraphy Lettering Booklet written and illustrated by the Instructor is included in the class tuition fee.

Limited time will be spent reviewing and giving everyone in the class the time to present. You can voluntarily bring your work and business/promotional marketing materials to class.

Tricia’s book “The Artist’s Map to Success” that will be available through Amazon. There will be a prelaunch of the e-book for 99 cents on March 18th and then on April 9th, it will be available in print as well.

2020 Events  

Portrait Society of Reno

The Portrait Society welcomes everyone to the Wednesday portrait group which meets from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm at Nevada Fine Arts, 1301 S. Virginia Street. The cost is $10.00 per session and includes a live model.

Tricia Leanord’s Abstract Workshop

Abstract Workshop for Sierra Watercolor Society, on June 26,27, and 28, at Temple Sinai, 3405 Gulling Road. The workshop starts at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm each day. 

And again this workshop will be at TMCC starting September 18th on Fridays from 9 to 12. Registration for this class should be available in June.

CRME Exploring Watercolor

Colleen Reynolds teaches ongoing watercolor classes at her business address, CRME Exploring Watercolor, 400 W. King St., Suite 111, in Carson City. She holds two, 2.5-hour classes four Thursdays each month. The first Thursday afternoon session (12:00-2:30 pm, Exploring Watercolor) is designed for intermediate to advanced painters. Students work on their own projects with Colleen’s guidance.

The second session (3:00-5:30 pm, Watercolor Instruction) is geared toward beginner to intermediate students. Colleen does a short instructional demonstration each week. Students then can practice the demonstrated idea, or they can work on their own projects.

Prices vary if taken by the week or by the month. Early payment incentives also apply. The best deal is $95/month (four classes) if paid by the 15th of the prior month.
