Luverne Lightfoot

I’m LUVERNE LIGHTFOOT and I have been an active Latimer Art Club member since 1983, serving as President in 1985.

MY ART JOURNEY began early with pencil drawings and in the 1980’s I found painting the grandeur of nature and people my destiny. My artwork is inspired by the American West & its indigenous people. This is reflected in my paintings by including a “teepee” (tent-like dwelling) symbol in my signature.

WORKSHOPS and CLASSES with notable artists/teachers instructing life drawing, color theory, impressionism & Plein Air painting have provided me with a well-rounded knowledge. Soft pastels & oil paints are my favorite mediums. Whether painting en Plein Air or the studio, I invite the viewer to participate in my art journey by portraying the essence of the subject.

“They say a work of art is not complete until it is shared with someone.” Gene Kloss
