Whether in the studio or on location, Luverne’s paintings encourage the viewer to participate in her art journey.  Choosing a variety of subjects, her artwork depicts a symphony of color and light in either oils or acrylics. Expressing her interpretation of land, water and sky, she finds a connection with nature which promotes personal tranquility. Luverne has studied with renowned artists/teachers:  Stephen Quiller (Color Theory), Keith Ward (Impressionism in Oils), Richard McKinley (Soft Pastels), Jack Shields (Watercolor) & the late Camille Przewodek (Impressionistic Color).

Luverne taught classes, workshops and presented programs in soft pastels and oils for over 25 years.  Needing more time to commit to her commissions and expanding her portfolio, she decided to only present programs occasionally. She constantly experiments and considers herself to be a humble student of art and life.

Four of Luverne’s pastels were included in Betty Martin’s Book “TECHNIQUES in SOFT PASTELS” released in 2017.  A color image of Luverne’s pastel is in the book “19th and 20th CENTURY PAINTERS of NEVADA”, Jack Bacon, Editor.

Luverne has been an active member of Latimer Art Club since 1985 and served as President in 1986.  She lives in Sparks, NV with her soulmate and stays busy travelling, commissions, exhibits and family. IT IS A GOOD LIFE.
