Oils
After retiring in 2009, I devoted myself to painting, starting with watercolors, but eventually I found a mentor who introduced me to oils and pastels. I have been fortunate to have known & studied with many artists, learning a variety of techniques & styles which expanded my art into acrylics and mixed media. I am always learning from the artists around me.
Combining the various mediums, I create landscapes, still lifes, animal portraits, abstracts and whimsical animal characters. My landscapes are inspired from our northern Nevada area and nearby northern California. My whimsical characters initially were inspired by the animals in my husband’s veterinary practice and have expanded to include the wild life in our area. I am in my happy place creating them.
