Kathryn is a lifelong Reno resident. She has considered herself an artist from a very young age with a God given Talent. She is mostly a self trained artist but has participated in a few workshops. She is primarily a watercolor artist but frequently dabbles in pastels and acrylic abstracts along with her love for drawing.
She is an award winning artist both locally and in the Sacramento area. Kathryn has been a member of Reno Open Studios for 8 years and is the Scholarship and membership Chairman. She is also a member of the Sierra Watercolor Society, serving as the scholarship chair and Facebook Moderator, as well as a member of the Latimer Art Club..
She gets her inspiration from her life experiences and the beautiful landscapes and animals of Northern Nevada and California. Living with beautiful objects that surround her allows her to that pay tribute to the natural world. This inspires her to slow down and reconnect with nature observing how light and shadows dance across landscapes and flowers which she captures in her pieces.
