I grew up in the California coastal town of Santa Barbara. The surrounding beauty of my state, from the sea to the Sierras, nourished my love of the outdoors. I respond to the beauty of creation with a thankfulness that I can only express in paint. Painting has been a source of delight for me since early childhood. Graduate work in art expanded my artistic horizons and my passion to paint. One of my greatest joys is to paint en plein air, describing the color, the contrasts, and the contours of the viewed landscape. Another delight is developing conceptual art that impacts the viewer with transcendent understanding. Experiencing the emotion of the moment and translating it into paint – this has captured me. Now living in Reno I have a whole new selection of subjects.
