Nearly everyone is familiar with the famous quote, “The mountains are calling and I must go,” by the naturalist John Muir. We’re excited to announce that Latimer member Deborah Stevenson will be the July guest artist at the Artists Co-op Gallery of Reno in conjunction with an exhibit entitled The Mountains are Calling. How perfect for Deborah to combine her love for hiking in the mountains with her passion for expressing the power of nature through art!
Stevenson’s current focus is to convey the spiritual values of inner strength, joy, radiance, clarity and tranquility as antidotes to the fear-based anxiety so prevalent in today’s world. The feature painting of this exhibit depicts a magnificent Sierra Juniper whose spiraling branches embody not only strength, but resilience. If you love sun-drenched aspens, crystal-clear alpine lakes, and spacious landscapes, this exhibit is for you!
The Artists Co-operative Gallery of Reno is located at 627 Mill Street and is open seven days a week from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. The exhibit runs from July 1 – July 31, thus serving as a wonderful complement to Reno Artown activities. The free opening reception is Sunday, July 3 from noon until 4:00 pm. Please come enjoy a glass of wine and delicious refreshments. For more information, call the gallery at 775-322-8896.
