I have been painting with oils on canvas for the past several years, specializing mostly in themes of the American West, particularly contemporary cowgirls and sometimes cowboys.  My style is mainly modern, or new west as I have heard it described.

I do not attempt to paint the West and my characters with any type of historical accuracy, but rather in a modern, romantic, colorful and attitude filled style derived from my imagination and love of the old and modern West.

While living in Arizona I had the pleasure of belonging to the Sonora Art League, in which I participated in various shows including the Leagues  Desert Show in which my painting One Barrel Down won Best of Show and First Place. I was also honored to participate in Sierra Vista Gallery, Huachuca Desert Gallery, and The Gallery at El Pedregal.

Since arriving in Nevada I have joined the Latimer Art Club and shown in the Mill Street Gallery, Reno, the Carson City Nevada Artists Gallery, The Artists Expo, Reno, the Optima One Gallery of Fernley, Nv., and Representative Artist for Hold Your Horses Equine Rescue.

Current Association memberships include National Oil and Acrylics Society, Cowgirl Artists of the West, Oil Painters of America, and Latimer Art Club.

I am a self-taught artist, having caught the art bug from my late father, who carved early Americana-style horses, guns, Indians, and more.  I retired from corporate life years ago, and moved to Sparks, Nevada in 2021.
