I discovered in high school that I loved every aspect of creating art and especially
loved painting, but I wasn’t exactly encouraged to pursue an education or a career as an
artist. Over the years I would pick up a pencil and paper and draw something every
now and then, but I never felt that I had the time to pursue art in any serious way. In
2013 I stumbled upon the meditative art form known as Zentangle which started me
back to my original love of creating as it was a perfect fit for my life at the time. I had
always wanted to further explore painting in watercolors, and I finally picked up a
brush again in early 2017. Since then I have explored a variety of techniques and have
followed several artists to learn more about this medium, and I am trying out the idea
of combining Zentangle art with watercolors. I have won a few local awards and am
currently working with a small business in Willow Glen in Silicone Valley to display
and sell some of my work.
If you were to ask me what my favorite thing to paint would be, I would have to tell
you that I don’t know, as I am still exploring the possibilities. I hope that I will never
stop my explorations because it means that I am continuing to grow.
